Nephele is an elastic cloud-based monthly subscription software licensing service that is tailored to the needs of startups and small-business ISVs that develop and market Java and C/C++ applications, plug-ins and cloud services. The Nephele service is based on the Orion network licensing platform, and is hosted by Agilis at a Tier 1 data center.

 

As a startup or small-business ISV, Nephele enables you to fine-tune your capital outlay according to the stage of your product and company in your marketplace – as your product succeeds in the marketplace, you can seamlessly scale up the Nephele subscription plans and eventually transition to an OEM Orion license. At the same time, you do not have to compromise on the quality or functionality available with Nephele – virtually the entire gamut of Orion’s licensing capabilities, platform support and reporting and analytics capabilities that are utilized by leading medium and large ISVs are available to you – including but not limited to online and offline product activation, hosted floating licensing, enterprise pooling, and complex license configurations.

As your product begins to gain traction among early adopters, you can upgrade to the “small” subscription plan, where you can stay put and preserve your capital until you’ve weathered the “valley of death” and your product has begun to achieve mainstream adoption. At that point you can upgrade to the “medium” and subsequently “large” subscription plan, all with no minimum commitment.
